On June 11, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Pavlov participated in the final stage of the selection competition "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN 2025-2026". The newly elected youth delegates with a mandate for 2025/2026 are Vyara Trifonova and Viktor Tsvetanov.
In his address, Deputy Minister Pavlov wished the new youth delegates success, emphasizing that they are facing an important path related to the promotion and dissemination of UN values, as well as the strengthening of the Organization's authority in Bulgaria. The Deputy Minister stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to support this initiative, as it believes that young people should be key partners in decision-making processes at the national and global levels.
The "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN" program was created in 2006 by the United Nations Association in Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bulgaria is one of 40 countries participating in the UN Youth Delegates Program, and thus ranks among the leading countries internationally that recognize youth as an equal partner in decision-making processes.
