Burgas celebrates May 24 with reverence for the creators, inspiration, and Bulgarian culture

The city of Burgas organized a solemn ceremony where Mayor Dimitar Nikolov presented the prestigious "Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker" plaques to deserving enlighteners of the spirit and art. Among the honorees were poets, composers, actors, musicians, artists, and other cultural figures who contributed to the development of Burgas and Bulgaria.

On May 24, on the eve of the most Bulgarian holiday, Burgas once again proved that it is a city of inspiration and talent. At a solemn ceremony at the Congress Center, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov presented the prestigious plaques with the image of "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker" to the deserving enlighteners of the spirit and art. In his emotional greeting, the mayor emphasized that "the people of culture are the emblem of a city - they make it alive, memorable, eternal", and thanked all those who, with inspiration and persistence, build the cultural identity of Burgas.

Among the award recipients were true legends such as the poet and playwright Nedyalko Yordanov, the composer Stefan Diomov, and the poet Vanyo Valchev. Awards were also received by a number of other prominent artists from various fields - actors, conductors, managers, curators, teachers, artists, journalists, dance and music ensembles. The ceremony became a celebration of the spirit with exceptional performances from classical arias to poetic recitals and theatrical productions.

Among the official guests of the event were the Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov, the Ambassador of India Arun Kumar Sahu, the Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, the Deputy Mayor Diana Savateva, and other representatives of the cultural, academic, and public life.

The climax of the evening came with the performance of the beloved song "Burgas Evenings", which brought all the honorees on stage in an exciting finale. The hosts of the ceremony were Yana Valcheva and Nikola Parashkevov.

The event underscored the importance of Burgas as a center of Bulgarian culture and art, where more talented people are born than in any other city in the country. The presentation of the "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker" awards is an annual tradition that honors and inspires the creators who have contributed to the cultural image of the city.
