Deputy Minister Toni Todorov and other high-ranking guests attended a ceremony to unveil a monument dedicated to the medical staff who lost their lives while treating COVID-19 patients at Pirogov Hospital.

Deputy Minister of the Interior Toni Todorov and the Director of the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzartov took part in the solemn inauguration of a monument honoring the medical staff who lost their lives in the fight against the pandemic. The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Sofia Medical College Dr. Asen Medjidiev, the Chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Union Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, as well as hospital directors, doctors and staff of the medical institution. Representatives of various organizations, including the Ministry of Interior and the Bulgarian Red Cross, laid flowers and wreaths, and the Bishop of Melnik Gerasim performed a memorial prayer. The monument is a symbol of gratitude for the selfless work of the medical staff who lost their lives while treating COVID-19 patients at the "Pirogov" hospital during the pandemic.
