Maria Filipova, the chairperson of the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC), presented in an interview with Sonya Koltuklieva in the studio of PIK TV the details of the upcoming national campaign for price monitoring. Filipova explained that for a period of 30 calendar days, all parts of the country will be visited, with a total of 15 events per day.
The main goal of this large-scale initiative is to hear the concerns of citizens regarding price processes, as well as to discuss with the business the proper application of the Euro Law. Filipova emphasized that the transparency and traceability of pricing are of key importance for the protection of consumers.
In this regard, the CPC has already developed a special website that will provide weekly information on price changes in retail chains, including data on the minimum and maximum prices of goods. This will allow consumers to compare prices, following the established European practice.
Although the website and mobile application are ready, Filipova expressed concern that some of the food chains have not yet provided the necessary information. She pointed out that there is a "silent refusal" on the part of some businesses, which is concerning.
The chairperson of the CPC assured that the institution will continue to work actively to protect the rights of consumers and to ensure transparency in pricing. She called on citizens to follow the upcoming events within the campaign and to share their concerns directly with the CPC.
