St. Cyril and St. Methodius Elementary School with a new STEM center and improvements in Sveti Vlas

General School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Sveti Vlas opens its doors for the new school year after a series of major improvements aimed at modernizing the educational environment and preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. The transformation is particularly visible with the opening of a brand new STEM center, designed to turn the classroom into a laboratory for innovation and discovery.

The center, located on the ground floor of the school, is structured into four main areas that cover key fields of modern scientific and technological knowledge. These areas include natural sciences, mathematics and informatics, design and 3D prototyping, as well as green technologies and sustainable development. The rooms are set up to allow children to focus on an in-depth study of the natural world, develop logical and algorithmic thinking, turn abstract ideas into real models, and form a caring attitude toward the future of the planet.

New STEM Center for Innovation and Practice

The main philosophy of the new STEM center is to go beyond traditional education by turning theory into practice and curiosity into discoveries. The goal is for students to not just be passive consumers of knowledge, but active creators. A special emphasis is placed on primary school students to ensure a smooth transition to more advanced technological and scientific research, preparing them from an early age for more complex concepts.

The improvements are not limited to the STEM center. The school has also installed an impressive educational 3D wooden map of the world, complete with LED lighting. Two classrooms have been completely refurnished with new tables, desks, and blackboards, and eight have had their flooring replaced. The educational process for the 2025/2026 school year will also be enriched with two new specialized music and biology classrooms.

As I have stated on more than one occasion, the material and technical base in the educational institutions on the territory of the Nessebar municipality is modern, functional, and supportive of our children"s development. In combination with the highly qualified specialists who work in our schools, I believe that all the conditions for a successful educational process are in place,q_ he said.

The new school year will be welcomed with a record number of students. The school in Sveti Vlas will accept 452 children, 75 of whom are first-graders. This is the largest number of registered children in the last 12 years, which is a clear indicator of the growing interest in the educational institution.

The educational institution has also received approval for a project called "Quality Education Through Diversity: Adaptive Methods and a Personalized Approach in the Classroom." The project, funded by the "Erasmus +" program, aims to improve the qualifications and develop the skills of six teachers from Primary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius_q_ for working with adaptive methods and a personalized approach in the classroom, as well as to help build an integrated system for managing the school environment.
