Deputy Minister Martin Danovski revealed that the unlocking of technology transfer processes is among the priorities of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) for this year. This process represents the transfer of scientific research and inventions to businesses and industry to turn them into real products and services.
Danovski explained that MIG has two key initiatives in this direction. The first is under the "Science and Business" program (NIIDIT), where a new measure is about to be launched to support the existing technology transfer offices to develop their capacity to world-renowned standards. These offices will work in a network, with the main goal of increasing the visibility of scientific results and their implementation for the benefit of society and business.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that through the Fund of Funds, which offers financial instruments on the market, a Technology Transfer Fund of over 30 million euros has also been launched. It will be directed towards startups in Bulgaria, whose business model is based on scientific research and innovation, implementing real technology transfer.
Danovski pointed out that in recent years, technology transfer, as a process of market realization of scientific developments, has been greatly underestimated. He highlighted the creation of knowledge products through scientific research and their implementation in our lives as fundamental components for the education-business-state relationship.
Other key figures, such as the Chairperson of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova, Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov, Education Minister Krasimir Valchev, representatives of higher education institutions and the business, joined the discussion on the topic of education and innovation.
