From January 1st, Bulgaria is preparing to embrace a new currency – the Euro. For children and students, this change will be more than just a financial transition – it will represent an entry into a new world of symbols, concepts, and opportunities that are yet to be discovered. To support young people in this process, "Prosveata" Publishing House is actively participating in the National Information Campaign for the introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria, the publishing house announced.
The initiative is aimed at providing a better understanding of the European currency among students. With the partnership of "Postbank", the publishing group created an information board "The Euro in Our Pocket", specially designed for Bulgarian schools.
The efforts are supported by the Ministry of Education and Science. The boards are already finding their way to over 2200 schools in the country, providing resources to teachers for classroom work.
School visitors will be able to get acquainted with the Euro in an accessible and attractive way – through images of Euro banknotes and coins, accompanied by short explanations and interesting facts. This will facilitate the work of teachers in class hours and in subjects related to financial literacy.
Inspired by the two-sided nature of the coins, the board also offers another side – an illustrative story of the Bulgarian Lev, telling about its development from the Liberation to the present day.
To further support teachers and students, "Prosveata" has also prepared an educational video clip "The Euro in Our Pocket". The video material provides basic information that every young person should know: what the Euro is, what the banknotes and coins look like, what national symbols are depicted on them, in how many countries of the European Union the Euro is the national currency, what is the purpose of creating the common currency and how it facilitates our daily lives. The video will be free and accessible to all Bulgarian schools.
At the same time, in partnership with "Postbank", "Prosveata" is developing an online quiz about the Euro, which will start in November on the Facebook page of the publishing house. "Our mission is to make education relevant and connected to real life. With these initiatives, we help students build a financial culture, which is an important part of modern education," explain from the "Prosveata" Publishing Group.
