Burgas immerses itself in the magic of Portuguese culture in June

An international cultural forum will turn Burgas into an epicenter of Portuguese art and traditions from June 27 to July 2, 2025. The initiative, realized jointly by the Embassy of Portugal and the local municipal administration, promises a diverse and exciting experience for all age groups.

The central event in the program will be the official opening on June 27 at 6:00 PM in the "Petya Dubarova" hall. A large-scale photographic exhibition "Portraits from Portugal" will be presented there, created by students from AEG "Geo Milev" and SUES "Montessori", who combine their creative efforts.

The creative part of the event includes unique creative workshops that will be held in the garden of the "Georgi Baev" gallery. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own artworks - paintings with marine themes and decorative candleholders inspired by authentic Portuguese aesthetic models.

Language learning is another important focus of the weekly program. On June 29 at the Regional Library "P. Yavorov", an open Portuguese language lesson will be conducted, which will provide an accessible introduction to language features for beginners.

Movie enthusiasts will be able to enjoy three contemporary Portuguese films that will be screened under the open sky at the "Ohlyuva" site. The program includes: "The Metamorphosis of Birds" on June 27, "Salgeiro Maya" on July 1, and "Mommy Knows Best" on July 2, all starting at 9:00 PM.

The culmination of the week will be a music concert on July 2 at 7:30 PM in front of the "Marine Casino" Cultural Center. Local Burgas musicians - Georgi Rusev, Gergana Velikova, and Todor Todorov, will present a special selection of authentic Portuguese music.

The organizers emphasize that the event goes beyond an ordinary cultural event, becoming a true bridge between different national traditions and communities.
