Today, at an official ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Georg Georgiev and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Irene Maria Planck signed an agreement on temporary representation in the processing of applications for transit visas for a certain category of persons from the Republic of Turkey.
In his speech, Minister Georgiev emphasized that this document marks an important step forward in the bilateral cooperation with Germany, expressing a true partnership and a shared understanding of the need to facilitate mobility, increase security and build mutual trust. According to him, the agreement will contribute even more effectively to the spirit of cooperation for the benefit of citizens and businesses on both sides.
For her part, Ambassador Planck highly appreciated the responsibility that Bulgaria is taking on for the Schengen area, and stressed that the country's full membership in Schengen is an excellent solution.
With the agreement, Germany agrees to continue processing incoming applications for the issuance of Schengen transit visas to Turkish citizens who wish to enter the country for the purpose of providing temporary service as employees performing legal activities or services for an employer based in the Republic of Turkey (excluding activities in the tourism industry).
