The Ministry guarantees passability on the Mezdra-Botevgrad road until the end of June.
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Ivanov, assured that the deadline for ensuring passability on the road between Mezdra and Botevgrad will be met. The landslide problems are delaying the repair work, but the Road Infrastructure Agency and the Directorate for National Construction Supervision are working hard to eliminate them effectively.
Road repairs in Northwestern Bulgaria are progressing according to plan.
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Ivanov, inspected the construction activities on key road sections in the region. Progress in the work is reported, despite the problems with landslides, with the aim of completing the projects by the end of June and the beginning of July.
Repair activities on the main highway in Burgas region
Agency "Road Infrastructure" announces the repair of a 3-kilometer section of the "Trakia" motorway in Burgas region. Traffic will only be carried out in the overtaking lane, while the active and emergency lanes will be closed for passage. The repair work is expected to be completed by June 11.
Road repair of 13 km of a third-class road Haskovo - Mineralni bani starts on June 6
On June 6, repair work will begin on 13 km of third-class road III-806, connecting Haskovo and Mineralni bani. Traffic will be carried out in one lane at a time, regulated by road signs and signalmen. The repair activities include replacement of the pavement, improvement of drainage, and installation of road infrastructure, and are expected to be completed by August 2027.
Night cleaning of Vitinya tunnel and repair of Hemus motorway in the direction of Sofia
The movement on the Hemus Motorway (AM "Hemus") in the direction of Varna and Sofia will be restricted on June 6 for the purpose of carrying out repair activities. During the night, the Vitinya Tunnel will be cleaned, and during the day, a section between the 65th and 66th kilometers in the direction of Sofia will be repaired.
The "Daskalovo" road junction on the "Struma" motorway will be cleaned during the night.
From 10:00 pm on June 4 to 4:00 am on June 5, activities will be carried out to clean the pavement of the "Daskalovo" interchange on the Struma Motorway. Traffic will be phased in two lanes, and drivers are urged to exercise increased caution and comply with the restrictions.
Road repair works on the water supply and sewerage network are closing an intersection in the capital.
Due to repair work on the water supply and sewerage network on Georgi Shaguenov Street in Sofia, the intersection of this street with Antim I Street will be closed to traffic from 11:00 am on June 3 to June 5, 2025. Citizens are urged to comply with the temporary traffic management in the area.
The Ministry of Transport has launched a public discussion on the award of passenger rail services.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has published a draft for the determination of the conditions for the selection of carriers for the provision of passenger rail transport in the country. It is planned that the railway network will be divided into three regions, with each being served by a corresponding regional depot. The contracts will be for a term of 12 years, and the procedure for their conclusion will be announced by the end of July 2025.
Repair of joints on Struma Motorway in the direction of Sofia
On June 5 and 6, repair work will be carried out on the expansion joints at the 45th km of the "Struma" motorway in the direction of Sofia. Drivers are urged to drive carefully and obey the traffic rules.

Temporary restriction of traffic on road I-5 for the holding of the traditional Rose Festival
On June 8, 2025, traffic will be restricted on a section of motorway I-5 between Gabrovo and Kazanlak for the holding of the "Rozobar" ritual as part of the annual Rose Festival. Traffic will be diverted to alternative routes, and drivers are urged to follow the instructions of the traffic police.
Repair activities on the Hemus Motorway in Sofia region require temporary traffic restrictions.
Repair work will be carried out on three sections of the "Hemus" motorway in Sofia region on June 3 and 4. Traffic will be redirected to one lane, and some lanes will be temporarily closed. Drivers are urged to obey speed limits and avoid risky maneuvers to ensure the safety of all travelers.
Repair activities on the Trakia Motorway require temporary traffic restrictions in the direction of Sofia.
Due to the need to apply horizontal markings, traffic on the Trakia Motorway in the section in the Plovdiv region in the direction of Sofia is restricted. Drivers must comply with the temporary traffic organization and drive with increased caution.

Rail passengers in the EU receive strengthened protection of their rights
Regulation (EC) No 1371/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council on rail passengers' rights and obligations entered into force on 3 December 2009. This regulation guarantees the rights of passengers and improves the quality and efficiency of rail services. It regulates the rights of passengers, including the provision of information, accessibility for people with disabilities, compensation for delays and cancellations of trains.
