The biggest forum for international historical documentary film - DOCK International Documentary Historical Film Festival, will delight documentary film fans with a special winter edition.
It will be dedicated to women during World War II and will tell those stories that have long remained in the shadows, but continue to resonate strongly today.
Historical documentary films await you, reminding us that courage has many faces – and many of them are female.
The winter edition of the festival will be held at two locations in Burgas, to reach an even wider audience - the Regional Library „Peyo Yavorov“ and the Youth International Center.
The festival program begins on February 4th at the Regional Library „Peyo K. Yavorov“ with the screening of „The Unification: 140 Years Later“ (57 min.), followed by a meeting with students with the participation of Prof. Petar Stoyanov. This is followed by the film „Top Secret Rosies: The Female ‘Computers’ of WWII“ by director Lianne Erickson, and the evening will end with „The Second Liberation“ by Svetoslav Ovcharov.
On February 5th, the program continues with „Rooted Out“ by Antoaneta Bachurova and Vladimir Lyutskanov and „Trained to See: Three Women and the War“ by Luzia Schmid.
On February 6th, viewers will be able to watch „The Saved“ by Milena Milotinova and „Chronicle of a National Betrayal“ by Rosen Elezov.
The festival day on February 7th is dedicated to two films by Adela Peeva – „The Mayor“ and „In Search of Spisarevski“.
Winter DOCK 2026 will end on February 8th at the NHC with screenings of „Victim of Pawns“ by Asen Vladimirov and „Weimar Express“ by Milena Fuchadjieva, after which a meeting with the author is planned.
The festival was created with an investment „Burgas – a green haven of the arts“ № BG-RRP-11.021-0005-C01 of 29.10.2025 with the financial support of the European Union – Next Generation EU.
