Postponement of protest actions in the Burgas region
Residents of several settlements in the Burgas region are temporarily abandoning plans to block roads. The decision followed a series of meetings between initiative committees, Regional Governor Diko Dikov, and representatives of the Road Infrastructure Agency (API).
"The right to protest is a legitimate way to express civic discontent, provided that the actions are carried out within the framework of the law," stated Regional Governor Diko Dikov.
Status of key road sections
- Burgas – Kableshkovo: The major overhaul of the over 31 km route is delayed due to the lack of a building permit from the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. Construction activities are expected to intensify after mid-September.
- S. Rosen – Otmanli area – s. Veselie: The project has been revised to include new culverts and sewage systems in the village of Rosen. The new building permit is expected by July 10.
Despite public discontent, the authorities maintain that work on the infrastructure projects has not stopped and that the delays are due to objective reasons and redesigning.
