This was emphasized by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during a meeting with the American President, Donald Trump. The information came from the press office of the Council of Ministers, shedding light on the significance of this key relationship.

Prime Minister Zhelyazkov participated in the traditional reception organized by the American President in New York on the occasion of the session of the UN General Assembly. The atmosphere, filled with anticipation, witnessed important political meetings.

Within the framework of the brief but essential exchange of opinions with President Trump, Zhelyazkov identified energy and defense as leading spheres. In them, according to the Prime Minister, the US and Bulgaria are marking historical successes, deepening cooperation at an ever-increasing pace. Before the meeting with President Trump, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov addressed the UN General Assembly with a speech delivered during the 80th session in New York. The focus of his speech was the urgent need for reforms in the UN to enable the organization to respond effectively to the challenges of the modern world. "To address the challenges of our time, reform is not a choice but a necessity," Zhelyazkov stated. He added that sustainable development is unthinkable without respect for human rights.

The Bulgarian delegation to this year's session of the UN General Assembly is represented by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, who serves as its leader. The delegation also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, the Minister of Health, Silvi Kirilov, the Minister of Energy, Zhecho Stankov, as well as the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Borislav Gutsanov.
