A Yellow Code for significant rainfall is in effect for 16 regions in the country – Burgas, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Sofia-oblast, Haskovo, and Yambol, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) on its website. The expected amounts of rain are up to 35 mm.
In the Burgas region, there is a warning for wind gusts of up to 14-17 meters per second and sea swell of 4 degrees.
According to the NIMH forecast, the rainfall will be significant in quantity, mainly in the mountainous areas of Western and Central Bulgaria. The rainfall will be temporarily intense and in isolated places with thunderstorms, in the southeastern parts of the country. A moderate, and temporarily strong in the eastern regions, northeast wind will blow.
Minimum temperatures will be mainly between 5° and 10°, for Sofia - around 6°, and maximums - between 7° and 12°, for Sofia - around 7°. Atmospheric pressure will rise, but will remain lower than the monthly average.
On Sunday, the rainfall will gradually stop, latest - in the eastern regions.
