For today, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a warning for dangerous meteorological phenomena of the first degree - yellow code, for eight regions in Southern Bulgaria. This is reported in the map with warning codes for dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website.
The yellow code for rainfall and for the danger of ice is announced for the regions of Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Yambol.
Snowfall is expected, which will turn into rain, and conditions for ice will also be created. In the southern regions of the Rila-Rhodope region there will be significant amounts of rainfall. There will also be conditions for drifting snow on the mountain passes.
Today there will be a weak to moderate wind from the east-southeast and the temperatures in the eastern half of the country will rise, as a result of which the snow in the eastern part of the Upper Thracian lowland and the Eastern Rhodopes, and overnight to Thursday and in the central part of the Danube Plain, will turn into rain and ice will form there. Maximum temperatures will be between 0 and 5 degrees, in Sofia - around 1 degree.
Over the Black Sea coast, the cloudiness will be significant and by the evening rain will fall along the southern coast. A moderate southeasterly wind will blow. The maximum temperatures will be between 5 and 7 degrees. The sea water temperature is 6-9 degrees. The sea swell is 2-3 Beaufort.
