Agricultural organizations in Bulgaria will receive a chance for financial support through new operational programs that will start from the beginning of 2026. The official application period is set between August 1 and September 1, 2025, according to an announcement by experts from the State Fund "Agriculture".
Officially recognized production organizations and their industry associations have the right to apply. A key requirement is that developed projects meet certain criteria from the Strategic Plan for Agricultural and Rural Development for the period 2023-2027.
Mandatory conditions include:
• Program duration between three and five years
• Creation of an operational fund
• Registration in the Electronic Services System (ESS)
• Use of a qualified electronic signature when submitting documents
Parallel to the announcement of new financial opportunities, the industry community signals serious challenges in the sector. The Chamber of Fruits and Vegetables alarms about a critical situation caused by extreme drought, which has already destroyed over 10,000 decares of agricultural land in Dobruja.
The chamber's leadership has taken active steps, having made an official request for a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Georgi Takhov. Their main requests include immediate financial support for affected producers, urgent measures to limit damages, and the creation of a coordinated inter-institutional approach.
