Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has presented details of an updated peace plan, which offers Russia the possibility of withdrawing Ukrainian troops from the eastern part of the country, something Moscow demands.
Revealing details of the 20-point plan, agreed upon by American and Ukrainian negotiators in Florida over the weekend, Zelenskyy said that the Russians will give their response after the Americans talk with them.
Describing the plan as a “basic framework for ending the war,” Zelenskyy said it offers security guarantees from the US, NATO, and Europeans for a coordinated military response if Russia attacks Ukraine again.
On the key issue of eastern Ukraine - Donbas, Zelenskyy said that a “free economic zone” is a potential option.
