On the eve of a key diplomatic meeting in the Italian capital, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Keir Starmer held extensive negotiations to strengthen joint defense strategies. The telephone communication was focused on expanding British support for the production of specialized interceptor drones by Ukraine.

During the conversation, the leaders outlined several priority areas for joint actions. These include strengthening air defense, imposing economic pressure on the Russian Federation, introducing additional sanctions mechanisms, and guaranteeing security in the Black Sea region.

Starmer officially expressed deep sympathy towards the Ukrainian people due to the recent large-scale rocket attacks against civilian urban centers. Zelenskyy, for his part, emphasized the importance of financial and technological support for domestic defense systems production.

The two heads of state reached a principled agreement to deepen cooperation in international formats, including the Ramstein initiative. The main goal of these coordinated actions is maximum protection of the life and security of Ukrainian citizens.

The upcoming meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Rome is viewed as a key moment for clarifying further joint strategies and mechanisms to support Ukraine.
