The international student competition "He Who Saves a Human Life Saves an Entire Universe" has ended

The international literary and film student competition "He Who Saves a Human Life Saves an Entire Universe" attracted 130 young artists from Bulgaria and abroad, who expressed themselves through the means of words and cinematography. The competition is an established forum for youth creativity and the building of a civic position.

The international literary and film student competition "He Who Saves a Human Life Saves an Entire Universe", organized for the 13th consecutive year by CEBS "Alef", ended with the huge participation of 130 young artists from Bulgaria and abroad. Through the means of words and cinematography, they portrayed humanity as a supreme and imperishable value.

The literary and film competition has established itself not only as a prestigious international forum for youth creativity, but also as a means of building a civic position and forming human virtues such as tolerance and humanism.

This year, it attracted young people from different parts of Bulgaria – 81 participants from 26 settlements. The competition also sparked serious international interest – 39 young people from 8 countries created inspiring artistic and video stories on the theme "In the main role: Humanity". Thus, for 13 years, the participants in the competition of the Alef Center are over 2330 students from 16 countries, namely: Bulgaria, Germany, Montenegro, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Austria, Hungary, Israel, Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Spain, France and Latvia.

The works are already in the hands of the authoritative international jury, which will select the 30 most exciting works of participants from Bulgaria and abroad.

The nominations will be announced on the organizers' website, and the most prominent young authors will be invited to participate in the three-day International Youth Literary and Film Festival "Friendship – Meaning and Salvation". The festival will be held in Burgas in the spring of 2026.

And this time, the three-day youth forum will give participants the opportunity to meet with beloved Bulgarian and international writers, directors and scientists. An emphasis in the program of the youth festival will be the solemn award ceremony for the winners of the competition. Cash prizes will be provided for the winners, and the young people from Bulgaria who rank in the first three places will be able to apply for year-round state scholarships under the program to encourage talented children of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The event is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and with the financial support of Burgas Municipality.
