Increased traffic on the main roads in the country today as well. Over 700 police patrols are on the roads, and the goal is safe driving and prevention against offenders. A specialized police operation of the Ministry of Interior is being conducted on the "Struma" motorway.

The violations are mainly for driving without a seat belt, without headlights on, as well as without the necessary equipment in the car, such as a first-aid kit and a fire extinguisher. Not a few are the drivers who have accumulated and unserved fines, who are waiting at a certain place to receive the tickets and acts that they have accumulated in the last months.

At the "Simitli" road junction, where the traffic is reversible with one lane for Greece and one for Bansko, the traffic is also regulated by the "Road Police" to prevent traffic jams. Due to a minor accident in the Kresna Gorge, queues were also formed. Over 2,000 cars per hour pass on the road to Greece, according to the statistics of the institutions.

Chief Inspector Lychezar Bliznakov – "Road Police" department in the General Directorate of National Police: "We are focusing on the transportation of children, safety systems are mandatory and we will be uncompromising if we find such violations. Even here on the motorways, people allow themselves not to put on their seat belts, which is madness. Fortunately, we are observing a culture of passage in the Simitli area, where last year there were kilometers-long columns, this year – yes, it is busy, but they pass peacefully and people take advantage of the two lanes in the direction of Greece."

The "Road Infrastructure" Agency has stopped all repair works on the main roads to allow traffic to flow normally.
