Police in Plovdiv detained a 23-year-old Syrian man yesterday on suspicion of stabbing two boys near the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia on Friday, 16 October, the Plovdiv regional police directorate said.
The man has humanitarian status in Bulgaria. Officers from the organised crime unit found him at an address in the city during an operation.
Police searched his home and seized evidence.
The suspect and the evidence were handed to investigators at the Fourth District Police Station of the Sofia police directorate (SDVR). They opened pre-trial proceedings for minor bodily harm out of hooligan motives.
