The prestigious series Ideas Roadshow presents a large-scale multimedia study of the forgotten talent of Sofonisba Anguissola, whose innovative work "The Chess Game" from 1555 redraws the perceptions of women's art during the Renaissance.

The film, masterfully narrated by the established researcher Elizabeth van Sebelde, offers an in-depth narrative about the painting, which is the first group portrait depicting three sisters and their servant in an intimate and intellectual moment.

Through a detailed analysis, the documentary traces the creative path of Anguissola - a woman who received an exceptionally rare professional artistic training directly from Michelangelo for her time. Her exceptionality is confirmed by her subsequent career as a court artist for King Philip II of Spain.

A key focus of the film is the psychological depth of the painting, where the chess game serves as a metaphor for social relationships and the intellectual capacity of women during the Renaissance.

The premiere of the documentary is scheduled for July 24, 2025, on the Prime Video platform, promising to provide a revolutionary view of forgotten female voices in art.
