A section of the secondary road II-99, connecting the villages of Izgrev and Bulgari in the Tsarevo municipality, has a traffic ban imposed on all vehicles. The reason for this is the compromised integrity of the bridge over the Izgrevska River, located at the 59th kilometer of the road. The continuous rainfall over the last 24 hours has caused floods and serious material damage to the road infrastructure in the Tsarevo municipality, with the bridge suffering damage.
To ensure the safety of travelers, passage in the section between the town of Tsarevo and Malko Tarnovo is restricted. Traffic is being diverted via municipal roads, using the route Tsarevo – Brodilovo, and then again on the Tsarevo – Malko Tarnovo road. An alternative route is the tertiary road III-907 Bosna - Vizitsa. Traffic is regulated by "Road Police" officers.
The structure, located at the 59th kilometer of the secondary road, has been in operation since 1960. Following the floods that affected the area two years ago, the bridge underwent partial repairs in 2023.
Currently, teams from the Burgas Regional Road Administration are conducting an inspection of the bridge and the entire infrastructure in the area. The aim is to assess the current condition and take subsequent actions for their restoration.
