Commemorative Postage Stamp in Honor of the Bulgarian Pope John XXIII

On December 22nd in Sofia, a commemorative postage stamp will be validated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Monsignor Angelo Roncalli in Bulgaria, later known as Pope John XXIII, or the Bulgarian Pope.

On December 22nd, a commemorative postage stamp will be validated at the St. Mary's Cathedral, located at 5 Lyulin Planina Street in Sofia, to mark the 100th anniversary of Monsignor Angelo Roncalli's arrival in Bulgaria as a papal representative. This was announced by the Catholic Church in Bulgaria.

Later, Monsignor Roncalli was elected Pope under the name John XXIII, or the Bulgarian Pope, as he is known in Bulgaria. He continued to cherish wonderful memories of Bulgaria and the ten years he spent here. Monsignor Angelo Roncalli spent his first year in Sofia at 5 Lyulin Planina Street.

The apostolic nuncio Monsignor Luciano Suriani, Bishop Petko Valov - Chairman of the Interritual Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Church, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and "Bulgarian Posts" will attend the validation, according to the Catholic Church in Bulgaria.
