On July 20, an innovative spiritual project "Save the Icon" was officially launched within the Yambol Diocese. The initiative, supported by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, aims to actively engage adolescents and their families in the process of preserving religious pictorial art.

Campaign participants will have the opportunity to collect and restore icons printed on various everyday materials - from wine bottles to newspapers and calendars. Through creative workshops, children will delve into the depth of Orthodox iconography, studying the essence of saints and the symbolism of religious images.

The ultimate goal of the project includes organizing an exhibition where restored works will be displayed. Additional value is achieved through the charitable aspect - revenues from the sale of collages will be directed towards a socially significant cause.

In this way, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church demonstrates its ability to be not just a religious institution, but an active participant in educational and social life, which encourages spirituality and community engagement.
