Today, the sky over Bulgaria remains overcast and filled with rain, according to information from BNT. The precipitation, expected to persist throughout the day, is expected to be significant in quantity in some key areas.

The heaviest rainfall will be in Southwestern Bulgaria, as well as in Central Northern and Northeastern Bulgaria. The danger of intense rainfall also extends to the southern regions of the Eastern Rhodopes, which necessitates increased attention from local authorities and the population.

Lighter rainfall is expected in the southeastern and northwestern regions of the country. However, residents of these areas should not underestimate the meteorological situation, as rain is also likely in these areas.

In addition to precipitation, it is important to note the wind. A temporarily strong southern wind will continue to blow in the southeastern regions and north of the mountains. This will lead to higher maximum temperatures in these areas, with values between 16 and 21 degrees predicted.

In the rest of the country, including Sofia, temperatures will be lower. In the northwestern regions, 7 degrees are expected, while in the southwestern regions - 15. In Sofia, the thermometers will show around 12 degrees.

The situation in the mountains looks more alarming. There, a strong southwestern wind will continue to rage, especially in the high parts. This, in combination with the rain, can make travel difficult and create dangerous conditions for mountaineers. Rainfall in the mountains is expected to be particularly intense in the massifs of Southwestern Bulgaria, as well as in the central and eastern regions of the Stara Planina. Meteorologists advise increased caution when planning outdoor activities.
