The synoptic situation will remain complicated over the next 24 hours, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) announced.
Night: Precipitation will be almost widespread, and in the extreme southern regions it will be significant and accompanied by thunderstorms. In the mountainous regions of Western Bulgaria, snow will fall and a thin snow cover will form. The wind will be moderate to strong from south-southeast, but in the western regions of the country it will turn from west-northwest, mostly moderate. The minimum temperatures will be from minus 2° - 1° in Northwestern Bulgaria to 8° - 10° in the southeastern regions of the country, in Sofia – around 2°.
Tuesday: Before noon in the western, and after noon in the eastern regions of the country, the wind will be from west-northwest, moderate to strong, and with it cold air will rush in. With the drop in temperatures in many places in Southwestern Bulgaria and the Forebalkan, the rain will turn to snow and a new snow cover will form. In the Upper Thracian Lowland and Eastern Bulgaria, precipitation will be from rain. In the evening from the west, the precipitation will weaken, in places temporarily and will stop. Maximum temperatures will be mainly between 3° and 8°, a little higher in Southeastern Bulgaria, in Sofia – around 4°.
Black Sea coast: Cloudy and with rainfall from rain. A moderate to strong wind will blow from south-southeast. The maximum temperatures will be 10°-12°. The sea water temperature is 5°-9°. The sea swell will be 3-4 points.
Mountains: Cloudy, windy and with snowfall, below about 1200 meters - from rain. Significant amounts will be in the Western Stara Planina and the massifs in Southwestern Bulgaria, and in the passes there will be conditions for blizzards and drifts. A strong and stormy wind will blow from south-southwest, but by the evening it will weaken and will turn from west-northwest and with it cold air will rush in. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 3°, at 2000 meters – minus 2°.
Night against Wednesday: The cloudiness from the west will decrease, the wind will weaken, in individual regions it will temporarily calm down and the morning temperatures will drop – the minimums will be from around minus 4° in the valleys in Western Bulgaria to 4°-5° in Eastern Bulgaria. During the day the wind will again turn from south-southwest and the daytime temperatures will rise – the maximums will be mainly between 9° and 14°. Before noon there will also be sunny hours, after noon from the west a new increase in cloudiness will begin and during the night against Thursday from the southwest it will rain again, in the mountains above 1000 m - snow.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, in the plain part of the country - with rainfall from rain, in the mountains – from snow. There is an increased probability of significant amounts of precipitation in places in Southern Bulgaria. The minimum temperatures will be from around 0° in the extreme northwestern regions to 8°-10° in the extreme southeastern, and the daytime - from 5°-6° in Western Bulgaria to 12°-14° in the Central and Eastern Forebalkan, as well as in Eastern Bulgaria, where the southern wind will be moderate.
