Following the predominantly sunny and warm weather of recent days, a cooling trend is expected in the middle of this week, with rainfall and more frequent cloudy skies.

By the end of today: The cloud cover will be variable and decreasing. Afternoon temperatures will be lower than yesterday's, mainly from 14 to 19 degrees Celsius.

During the night: The cloud cover will decrease to clear skies. It will also be almost calm, except in the northeast and along the coast, where a weak southeast wind will blow. Minimum temperatures will be from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, and frosts are possible in the high valleys in the west.

During the day: Cumulus clouds will develop, and around and mainly after noon, it will rain and thunder in the mountains and semi-mountainous regions in the west. Similar phenomena with a local character are also possible in the Sofia field area. Daytime temperatures will reach 18 to 22-23 degrees Celsius. It will be a few degrees cooler along the coast. Rainfall is less likely in the lowlands in the east and north. In Thrace and the eastern regions, the wind will be weak from the east, and in the Danube plain - from the north.

On Wednesday: It will be quite cold. A colder air mass will penetrate the ground with a weak northeast wind, and temperatures in the country will be from about 10-12 in the north to 17-18 in the southern regions. The minimums will be mainly from 5 to 10. It will be cloudy, with temporary breaks in the cloud cover and rain.

On Thursday: Cold, with rain in places. Minimum temperatures will drop slightly and will be from 3-4 to 7-8 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperatures - from 7 to 12 degrees Celsius. The northeast wind will be weak, in some eastern parts and along the sea coast - up to moderate from east-northeast.

On Friday: Minimum temperatures will be from just above zero to 5-6 degrees Celsius in most places. In the high fields and closed valleys, there is a possibility of frost formation. In the morning, there will be fog and reduced visibility in places. In the hours before noon, it will be mainly sunny in many regions, but around and after noon, cumulus clouds will form, and it will rain in places, possibly also with thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures will start to rise and will be mainly from 12-13 to around 17 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday: Minimum temperatures will be from 2 to 7, in the high fields, there remains a theoretical danger of frost if the weather clears and the wind subsides. In the western half, fog is possible for a short time in the morning around water basins. A moderate northeast wind will appear in Eastern Bulgaria. The cloud cover will be variable, at times - significant, with short-term rainfall in many places in the country.

On Sunday: Minimum temperatures remain without significant change. During the day, the cloud cover will be variable, the sunny hours - more than those on Saturday. Short-term rainfall will occur only in places in the east and in the mountains, and daytime temperatures will rise and will be from 13 to around 19 degrees Celsius, possibly a little higher in the low parts of the Danube plain and Thrace in the west.

Forecast for St. George's Day: According to the preliminary scenarios of the models, in the days before St. George's Day and on the holiday itself, we expect warmer weather, although with a moderate probability of unstable weather in some regions, mainly in the mountains and in the east. Minimum temperatures will rise, although less, and daytime temperatures will be around and above 20 degrees Celsius, in places in the lowlands up to 24-25.
