In the morning hours today, fog or low stratus clouds will form in places in the plain part of the country, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). This information provides an early picture of the climatic conditions that will prevail in the country during the coming day.
Minimum temperatures are expected to be mainly between 1° and 6° degrees Celsius. In some valleys, however, where conditions predispose to frost formation, thermometers will record even lower values.
The atmospheric pressure, according to forecasts, is slightly higher than the average for this month, but a slight decrease is expected during the day.
During the day, in general, sunny weather will prevail. However, in the hours before noon, residents of the lowlands and valleys should be prepared for foggy conditions or low stratus clouds. The wind will be weak, and in Northeastern Bulgaria it will reach moderate intensity, blowing from the south-southwest. Maximum temperatures will vary between 17° and 22° degrees Celsius. In the capital, Sofia, the thermometers will show about 17°.
On the Black Sea coast today, mostly sunny weather is expected, although in the morning hours in some places visibility will be reduced. The wind will be moderate, again from the south-southwest, while along the southern coast it will be mainly weak and from the southeast. Maximum temperatures along the coast will be between 18° and 19° degrees. The sea water temperature is expected to be between 17° and 18° degrees, while north of Cape Kaliakra it will drop to 15° degrees. The sea swell will be between 1 and 2 points.
In the mountainous regions, mostly sunny weather is expected. There will be a moderate southwest wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will reach about 18° degrees, while at 2000 meters the thermometers will show about 10° degrees.
The forecasts for Friday and Saturday predict mostly sunny and almost calm weather. There will be scattered high clouds, and in the night hours and early morning in places in the lowlands and valleys, as well as in more places along the Danube on the second day, fog or low clouds will form. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly, reaching mainly between 3° and 8° degrees. Maximum temperatures on Friday will be mainly between 17° and 22° degrees, and on Saturday they are expected to be 1-2 degrees lower.
