The current Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and eleven ministers from his cabinet are returning to parliament as MPs. They were part of the 51st National Assembly before being elected to the executive branch.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, announced that due to the appointment and assumption of office of the caretaker government, the powers of Rosen Zhelyazkov, Tomislav Donchev, Atanas Zafirov, Daniel Mitov, Georg Georgiev, Georgi Georgiev, Krasimir Valchev, Zhecho Stankov, Ivan Ivanov, Borislav Gutsanov, Manol Genov and Silvi Kirilov have been restored, and the powers of those who replaced them in parliament for the time they were part of the regular government have been terminated.
According to Art. 68, para. 2 of the Constitution, a Member of Parliament elected as a minister interrupts his powers for the time he is a minister, being replaced in the appropriate order.
12 MPs are leaving the parliament - Georgi Georgiev, Mihail Mitov, Denitsa Nikolova, Stefan Marinov, Valeria Slavova, Desita Petkova and Stanislav Guberov from GERB-SDS, Nina Dimitrova, Bilyana Ivanova, Galin Durev and Desislav Taskov from “BSP-United Left“, as well as Dimitar Gardev from “There Is Such a People“. This will lead to changes in the composition of the standing committees as well.
Until now, Dimitar Gardev was the chairman of the Committee on European Affairs and Control of European Funds in the National Assembly, and Desislav Taskov - chairman of the Committee on Tourism.
Denitsa Nikolova was the deputy chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Galin Durev - deputy chair of the Defense Committee, Bilyana Ivanova - deputy chair of the Environment and Water Committee, and Nina Dimitrova was deputy chair of the Labor and Social Policy Committee.
The current Minister of Finance, Temenuzhka Petkova, who took the oath as an MP at the beginning of the 51st National Assembly, will not return to parliament. By decision of the Constitutional Court, the election of 16 MPs, including Petkova, was declared unlawful, and the “Velichie“ party entered as the ninth political force in the National Assembly.
Hasan Ademy, who became Minister of Labor and Social Policy in the caretaker government with Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, is leaving parliament and in his place as an MP, the next person on the list of "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" should enter.
