Returning change in leva when sufficient euro cash is available is a violation of the law, stated Vladimir Ivanov, chairman of the DKSBT.

Ivanov called the practice “extremely unpleasant” and “amateurism”.

He emphasized that upon discovery of euro availability, and refusal to return euros, the NAP and CPC authorities will take action.

Ivanov urged traders to be correct and comply with the law, stressing that there will be strict sanctions for non-compliance.

He also advised consumers to choose correct traders.
