The Navy neutralized a drone in the Black Sea
A specialized team from the Naval Base – Burgas successfully carried out reconnaissance and destruction of parts of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The wreckage was discovered 14 nautical miles east of Cape Kolokita in the Sozopol area.
The operation was conducted following a report from fishing vessels that spotted the object in the sea.
The disposal actions were led by Lieutenant Commander Dimitar Stoyanov. The team acted at the request of the Regional Administration – Burgas and with explicit permission from the Chief of Defense.
Safety measures and origin
The Navy specified that:
- All destruction activities were carried out in strict compliance with safety protocols.
- The object was assessed as risky, which necessitated its destruction on-site.
At this moment, official information regarding the origin of the unmanned aerial vehicle has not been released by the competent authorities.
