Current conditions in the mountains
Tourism conditions in the Bulgarian mountains are currently relatively good, but the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross is issuing a warning to all hikers. The weather remains dynamic and changeable.
Currently, there have been no registered incidents involving tourists in the last 24 hours, but given the weather forecast, please be extremely careful.
Weather forecast
Although the weather is currently clear and calm with temperatures between 10 and 18 degrees, the development of cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds is expected. The forecasts predict:
- Short-term precipitation with thunderstorm activity.
- The most intense phenomena are expected in the Rila-Rhodope region.
- High risk of hail in the afternoon hours.
- Moderate to strong wind on the high peaks.
Maximum temperatures will reach around 25° at an altitude of 1200 meters and around 18° at an altitude of 2000 meters. Plan your hikes according to the weather conditions!
