Scheduled maintenance of the toll system on May 19
The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has announced an upcoming update to the electronic toll collection system. The activities will take place tomorrow, May 19, and are expected to last approximately half an hour after 8:00 PM.
The National Toll Administration advises drivers to purchase the necessary vignettes or route passes in advance to avoid potential inconveniences during the update.
What you need to know:
- Possible disruptions: The purchase of vignettes and route passes may be temporarily interrupted.
- Heavy goods vehicles: The update will not affect automatic toll reporting via on-board units and GPS trackers for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
Vignette statistics
In the first quarter of 2026, the RIA reported the sale of over 1.5 million vignettes. The highest demand was for annual vignettes (nearly 894,000 units), followed by weekly and one-day options. Revenues by the end of March amounted to nearly 50 million euros.
