From April 29, a large-scale renovation of a 2.6 km section of the Hemus motorway begins in the Varna region. The construction activities will affect the carriageway in the direction of Sofia, immediately after the "Airport" interchange (between the 418th and 421st km).
What does the project entail?
The renovation is not just a surface activity, but a comprehensive infrastructure update. The project includes:
- Full resurfacing of the road pavement;
- Improved drainage systems;
- Installation of new road signs and containment systems;
- Renewal of road markings.
This section of the motorway has not been renovated for nearly a quarter of a century – the last major activity was carried out in 2004.
