Interior Minister Daniel Mitov officially announced the full synchronization between the TOL system and the information arrays of the Ministry of Interior, which means a qualitatively new stage in road traffic control.
During an inspection visit to the Trakia highway, Minister Mitov emphasized the fundamental change in the mechanism for registering driver violations. The new technological platform will allow automatic documentation and sanctioning of drivers who commit unlawful actions.
According to the official data presented, the system will be able to identify multiple categories of offenses, including driving on emergency lanes, exceeding average speed, and driving in a visibly intoxicated state.
The minister categorically stated that extremely strict administrative measures will be applied to undisciplined traffic participants. "Drivers who systematically violate the rules must be definitively removed from road traffic," Daniel Mitov emphasized.
During a joint inspection with Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov, the specific technical capabilities of the integrated system were demonstrated. Starting from next week, TOL cameras will begin full-scale monitoring, with a special emphasis on control of emergency lanes.
Experts from the Ministry of Interior emphasize that the new technology represents an extremely effective tool for improving road safety. Through the direct connection between cameras and the police database, an instant reaction will be achieved when violations are registered.
A key point in the system is the ability to identify drivers operating vehicles with a high concentration of alcohol - above the legally established norm of 1.2 per mille. Such drivers will be immediately sanctioned.
The Ministry plans a phased expansion of the system, with expectations to cover all major road arteries in the country in the near future. The goal is to create a maximally effective preventive mechanism against road traffic accidents.
