National environmental institutions are entering maximum readiness due to increased risks of terrain ignition during the summer season. Specialized services have developed detailed operational plans for rapid response to potential fire outbreaks in protected natural areas.

A key element of the preventive strategy is a large-scale communication campaign among local communities. Municipal mayors receive specific instructions to inform the population about potential environmental threats and the strict sanctions against violators.

Experts categorically prohibit burning of stubble fields, dry grasses, and roadside strips, emphasizing the extremely negative consequences of such actions. It has been established that such burnings lead to complete destruction of soil microorganisms and disrupt natural ecosystem processes.

Environmental services will conduct enhanced preventive control over the activities of owners and users of lands, forests, and water areas. The goal is maximum prevention and minimization of fire risks in sensitive natural territories.

The Ministry of Environment and Waters issues an explicit recommendation to citizens to exercise exceptional vigilance, especially given climate changes and expected high temperatures during the summer season. Increased tourist interest in mountain regions further increases potential risks.

By official order of Minister Manol Genov, the period from April 1 to October 31, 2025, is officially declared a fire-hazardous season. This regulation covers all national parks, reserves, and maintained reserves, which are exclusive state property.

The main goal of the undertaken measures is to protect extremely fragile ecosystems and prevent catastrophic consequences of potential forest fires that could destroy entire natural massifs and threaten the lives of numerous animal species.
