Will Varna be left without waste collection? This question became relevant after the Municipal Council did not adopt the plan-estimate for the city's waste collection at its first meeting of the year.

The mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, warned of a garbage crisis from Monday if the plan-estimate is not voted on. Deputy Mayor Ilia Koev explained that the lack of approval will make payments to the waste collection companies difficult, which could lead to the cessation of activity and chaos.

The Municipal Council accuses the mayoral administration of delaying the documents. The chairman of the commission on urban planning, Martin Zlatev, claims that there will be no problem with waste collection and accuses the mayor of a pre-election campaign.

The residents of Varna are dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the city, pointing out overflowing containers and accumulated garbage. They believe that mentality and lack of cleaning are the main problems.

Varna Municipality will notify the prosecutor's office due to the Municipal Council's refusal to consider the plan-estimate, warning of health risks and negative consequences for tourism.
