Vandals have broken 8 of the newly planted trees in the Central City area. Burgas Municipality will replace them with new ones, but the restoration costs money that could have been used for something else.

It turns out that other trees in the city are also the target of attacks. Linden trees were planted on “Patriarch Evtimiy” street. Special siphons have been placed on the new trees there to make watering easier. However, some of them are already clogged with plastic bags and various waste.

The siphons were placed to replace the green bags that Burgas Municipality previously used to irrigate the young trees. Unfortunately, some people used the bags as trash cans and threw waste into them.

Employees of the “Greening” department also encounter unpleasant surprises on “Aleksandrovska” street and the alley to the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” temple.

Often, the flowerbeds and trees there are covered with coffee grounds, which are dumped either by nearby establishments or by those servicing the vending machines.

The grounds can indeed be useful for plants, but not in the huge quantities that are currently being poured. Now the effect is negative because it leads to the rotting of the plant's roots.

On “Aleksandrovdska” street, employees throw out the dirty and soapy water with which they have washed the floors in their commercial properties at the base of the trees.

The appeal of Burgas Municipality is to be more responsible. If we want to live in a beautiful and tidy city, we must also make an effort to preserve, instead of destroying.
