Orthodox Christians today solemnly honor the Virgin Mary on the Day of the Assumption - one of the most significant spiritual holidays in the calendar. The holiday becomes a true spiritual celebration that unites believers around the cult of the Mother of God.
Patriarch Daniel will lead the solemn services in Kyustendil, choosing the "Assumption of the Virgin" church as the epicenter of the holiday celebrations. Simultaneously, the Troyan Monastery is preparing for large-scale liturgical events with an exceptionally rich program.
The first service in the holy monastery begins early in the morning at 7:00 AM, followed by a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 9:00 AM. The culmination of the holiday is at 11:00 AM, when an impressive liturgical procession with the miraculous icon of the Holy Mother of God Three-Handed will take place.
Amidst the authentic frescoes of Zahari Zograf and under the ringing of monastery bells, the festive spirit fills the space. Enhanced security measures ensure the calm progress of the service, and faith and tradition once again unite people in this ancient holy monastery.
Reporter Varsen Takvoryan will directly follow the solemn events, providing detailed coverage of the holiday celebrations.
