UMBAL Burgas has received new high-tech medical equipment for the children's departments from the Ministry of Health. The investment is part of Component 1 “Modernization of the pediatric care system in the country“ and is financed with funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
The delivered equipment includes technology for intensive care, diagnosis, and transport of pediatric patients. It includes equipment for non-invasive respiratory support, monitoring of vital signs, ultrasound diagnostics, infusion therapy and defibrillation, as well as systems for safe warming and processing of blood products and infusion solutions.
The new equipment will be used in the two children's departments of the hospital, as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of newborns. The total value of the investment is over 300,000 leva.
Prof. Dr. Vladimir Gonchev, Executive Director of UMBAL Burgas, commented that “This equipment is extremely important and will help us maintain a high level of pediatric care. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Health and the funds under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, UMBAL Burgas continues to purposefully invest in modern technologies and better conditions for patients and medical teams“.
Annually, nearly 4,000 patients aged 0 to 18 years pass through the two children's departments of the hospital. UMBAL Burgas remains the most sought-after medical institution in the region for the treatment of babies and young children.
