Students from 25 countries to present developments at DiPP2026 in Burgas

The international DiPP2026 conference begins September 24 in Burgas, focusing on the digital preservation of cultural and scientific heritage.

The DiPP2026 international conference will be held in Burgas on September 24, showcasing prototypes of innovative technologies ranging from virtual museums to digital libraries, archives, and repositories. The forum's primary focus is ensuring access to national scientific and cultural heritage through digitalization and the implementation of sustainable methods for its long-term preservation. A special emphasis will be placed on protecting at-risk cultural and historical sites, an effort that will include the Burgas region.

According to information from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMI-BAS), the event will bring together scientists from over 25 countries to share their developments in the field of digital cultural heritage preservation. To ensure a high-quality exchange of ideas, experience, and best practices, the organizers have invited representatives from:

DiPP has a long-standing tradition; over the previous thirteen editions of the forum, more than 450 scientists from over 25 countries have participated, including Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, China, Latvia, Portugal, USA, Hungary, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Switzerland. For the past eleven years, the conference has been held under the patronage of UNESCO, receiving support over the years from the Burgas Municipality, the "Scientific Research" Fund, and other partners.
