Due to the deteriorated meteorological conditions and the measures taken to minimize the risks associated with student travel, the educational process has been suspended today in three municipalities of the region. The decision, aimed at ensuring the safety of the children, was made after a meeting of the Regional Crisis and Disaster Staff, convened by the regional governor. This was announced by the press center of the Burgas Regional Administration.
The situation in the region continues to be dynamic, with a particularly difficult situation observed in some areas. The situation in the Tsarevo municipality remains the most serious, where a state of disaster has been declared. The situation there remains critical, with a significant amount of rainfall measured in the early hours of today. The amounts of rain, registered at 4:00 AM this morning, reach 220 liters per square meter. As a result, the emergency medical center in the city has been temporarily relocated to the building of the Fire Safety Service, where the teams and ambulances are located.
In view of the difficult situation and in order to adequately inform the population, the regional governor of Burgas activated the BG Alert early warning system for the southern municipalities of the region. The warning is related to flooded roads, strong wind and heavy rain. The authorities are appealing to citizens to avoid travel until the situation normalizes.
On the scene of the events, a mobilization of efforts to deal with the consequences of the adverse climatic conditions is observed. Damaged power transmission facilities have been identified. Teams are working to repair the damage. The information states that the power supply in Sozopol has already been restored.
For the moment, the road network remains passable. There are no closed roads from the republican road network.
The work of the staff continues on the ground, taking the necessary measures to manage the situation and assist the affected population.
