The body of a drowned 37-year-old man was found on the beach in front of the Delfin hotel in Sunny Beach on 12 October, Burgas regional police said. The dead man is a 37-year-old Ukrainian citizen who had temporary protection status and lived in Sveti Vlas.
The alert reached the Nessebar police station at 3.20pm. The body was taken to the forensic medicine department at the University Hospital in Burgas for an autopsy. Police have opened a pre-trial investigation.

At 10.30am, officers from the Second District Police Department stopped a Volkswagen Passat with Haskovo plates in the neighbourhood. The driver, a 40-year-old man from Burgas, had taken methamphetamine before driving. At 5.30pm, police stopped a Mercedes C 220 with Burgas plates in the same neighbourhood. The driver, a 33-year-old woman from Burgas, had also taken methamphetamine before driving, and her car was seized.
In Pomorie at 1.10pm, police stopped a Skoda Octavia with Burgas plates near Morska Street. The driver, a 60-year-old man from Pomorie, had 1.04 per mille of alcohol in his blood. He was driving during the probation period of a sentence in force for the same offence. He refused to give blood and urine samples for chemical analysis.
All three drivers were detained for up to 24 hours, and fast-track proceedings have been opened against each of them.
At 6.05am, a Peugeot 307 with Burgas plates overturned on the road between Karnobat and Shumen, at km 82+500. The driver, a 30-year-old man from the village of Prilep, lost control and the car left the road. No other vehicles were involved.
He was taken to the Heart and Brain hospital with a chest contusion. His life is not in danger.
At 11pm, a one-storey house at 46 Angelariy Street in Burgas caught fire. The building is empty and was used for storage. The flames spread from one room to the whole house. The alert went to the First District Police Department, and one fire engine and four firefighters put out the blaze.
Police in Kameno solved the theft of a mobile phone and €20 from a 59-year-old woman from the town. They identified a 43-year-old man from Dobrinishte, who has a criminal record and prior convictions. He admitted everything and returned the stolen items.
Over the past 24 hours, police solved 8 crimes and opened 4 fast-track proceedings. One more criminal offence, one fire and one road accident were also logged.
