The National Road Statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reveals extremely alarming data on traffic injuries in Bulgaria. Over the past 24 hours, experts have registered a total of 18 serious road incidents that have led to loss of life.
The capital region stands out with a high concentration of traffic accidents - a total of 10 registered cases, of which 9 were minor accidents and one serious. In this area, a fatal loss was fortunately avoided, with only one citizen sustaining injuries.
The monthly statistics reveal extremely concerning trends. From the beginning of the current month, nationwide 312 traffic incidents have been documented, causing the death of 17 people and resulting in injuries to 413 citizens.
The annual statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are even more disturbing. From January to date, a total of 4,096 traffic accidents have been registered, which have claimed the lives of 256 people. The number of victims reaches the impressive 5,134 people.
These data categorically highlight the need for serious measures to improve road safety and transport culture in Bulgaria.
