A tragic incident shook the road section of the Trakia highway in the Stara Zagora region, where a 22-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a head-on collision with a truck. Official information from the press center of the Regional Police Directorate confirms the dramatic circumstances of the incident.
The signal about the accident came in at 18:17 today, with initial data indicating a head-on collision between the young man's vehicle and a truck driven by a 21-year-old driver. Despite the immediate intervention of the teams, the motorcyclist did not survive.
A thorough check is pending for possible alcohol use by the truck driver. Road Infrastructure Agency took immediate measures to regulate traffic, closing the route towards Burgas and redirecting traffic to alternative routes through Plodovitovo village and the Chirpan Ring Road.
This incident comes just a week after another fatal case, where a 38-year-old motorcyclist died in the area between Varvara village and Velingrad, which further increases concerns about road safety.
