Up-to-date information on traffic at border crossings
The General Directorate of Border Police reports that traffic through the country's border crossings is normal.
Important notice: As of June 30, 2026, traffic on the Danube Bridge (Ruse - Giurgiu) is fully restored following the completion of repair works.
Temporary restrictions on ferry connections:
- Oryahovo - Bechet: As of July 10, the ferry service is suspended due to the low water level of the Danube River.
- Svishtov - Zimnicea: As of July 21, the ferry connection also suspends operations for the same reason.
Status of the borders with Greece, Turkey, Serbia, and the Republic of North Macedonia:
Traffic is normal in all directions. At the border crossings with Greece, there are specific weight restrictions for vehicles:
- Only passenger cars and vans up to 3.5 tons can pass through Rudozem, Zlatograd, Makaza, and Ivaylovgrad.
- All types of vehicles, including heavy goods vehicles, can pass through Kulata, Ilinden, and Kapitan Petko Voyvoda.
