A severe drama unfolded today in the heart of Burgas, where a routine day was marred by a road incident, leaving an elderly woman in the hospital and raising serious questions about traffic safety. On August 26, in the calm atmosphere of the parking lot in front of Block 33, directly next to Entrance 1 in the "Bratya Miladinovi" residential complex, a 32-year-old truck driver hit an 87-year-old woman. The news, confirmed by the police, reveals alarming details that go beyond a simple accident.

Details of the incident and the woman's condition

According to initial information available from law enforcement, the driver was reversing his truck when he struck the elderly pedestrian. The incident caused visible agitation and tension among residents and passersby who witnessed what happened. The sirens of the arriving ambulance filled the area, and the sight of the injured woman lying on the asphalt caused concern and worry among the eyewitnesses.

The elderly woman was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, medical teams report that her condition is stable and her life is not in danger. Nevertheless, the incident once again brings into focus the problem of irresponsible driving and the use of narcotic substances behind the wheel.

The driver was under the influence of cocaine

A medical test performed on the driver tested positive for cocaine. This fact turned the incident from an unfortunate accident into a criminal act, subject to a serious investigation.

According to a police statement, the 32-year-old driver was immediately detained. A pre-trial investigation has already been initiated in the case, which will investigate all the circumstances surrounding the incident and establish the driver's full culpability.

The case of Burgazliev, in which marijuana was found in his blood tests after another ATV incident, highlights the disturbing trend of drug use among drivers. These incidents serve as a grim reminder of how dangerous the combination of drugs and driving can be, putting both the drivers themselves and innocent citizens at risk. The public rightly expects swift and decisive action from law enforcement to deal with this growing problem.
