The tragic incident occurred on September 7 around 11:30 a.m. The report of the accident was filed by the police in Dobrich, which immediately dispatched emergency response teams.

The injured child"s condition is stabilizing

The injured 11-year-old boy was immediately taken to a multi-profile regional hospital, where doctors are fighting for his recovery. According to the latest data, his condition has stabilized as of today, and he is to be transferred to the neurosurgery department for continued treatment and observation. The second child, who was traveling with him on the scooter, has lighter injuries and only suffered abrasions.

The investigation into the case has been taken over by the District Prosecutor"s Office - Dobrich. Daniel Iliev, a spokesperson for the prosecution, reveals details about the course of the pre-trial proceedings. According to him, the investigators are establishing all the circumstances that led to the accident. One of the main versions being worked on is whether there were other participants in the incident who could have caused the fall. At the same time, the possibility that the boy lost control of the scooter and suffered a solo incident is also being checked.

An interesting detail of the case is that the report of the serious accident was made by a passerby - a Romanian citizen who happened to be at the scene of the event. His quick reaction was crucial for the timely arrival of a medical team to provide first aid to the injured child.

Traffic safety campaign

Against the backdrop of frequent incidents with electric scooters, the District Prosecutor"s Office - Dobrich is taking active steps to raise awareness among adolescents. In this regard, a large-scale campaign with educational meetings in schools is being launched. The goal is to explain the consequences of such risky behavior, as well as to inform students about the new amendments to the Road Traffic Act concerning this type of vehicle. The measure is part of the authorities"s preventive efforts to reduce the number of accidents and ensure the safety of the most vulnerable road users - children.
