Dramatic details about the incident in the resort complex "Sunny Beach" were revealed by the prosecution during a specially convened briefing. On August 14 around 2:00 PM, a young driver caused a serious accident in which five people were injured, including minors.

The District Prosecutor of Burgas, Maria Markova, announced that charges have been brought against the driver for causing medium bodily harm to multiple persons. The prescribed punishment ranges between two and ten years of imprisonment.

During the investigation, the competent authorities have undertaken extensive evidence-gathering actions. Forensic medical and automotive technical expert assessments have been appointed, and law enforcement has requested video recordings from surveillance cameras in the incident area.

An interesting detail is that the perpetrator is an 18-year-old man from Nessebar, who recently obtained a motor vehicle driving license. According to official data from the Ministry of Interior, initial on-site tests for alcohol and drugs were negative.

Commissioner Marin Dimitrov from the Regional Police Directorate - Burgas emphasized that the fact that the young man's parents are Ministry of Interior employees will in no way affect the objectivity of the investigation. "A thorough internal investigation will be conducted to eliminate any possibility of information concealment," he stated.

Initial data indicate that the driver explained to the police that the vehicle had technical problems with the braking system, which he noticed immediately after renting it. After hitting people on the alley, he lost control and struck a nearby building.

The medical information about the injured is extremely alarming. Two of those admitted to Burgas hospital - a woman and a child - are in critical condition and are in intensive care. Doctors still cannot provide a prognosis for their health condition.

The other three patients are admitted to different hospital departments with various injuries. According to medical specialists, their lives are not in danger.

Parallel to the criminal proceedings, the prosecution is also checking the company that rented out the vehicle. All necessary documents certifying the technical fitness of the car and its operation permits have been requested.

The investigation continues, with all institutions declaring their firm position of complete transparency and objectivity in clarifying the circumstances surrounding this serious incident.
